Otam Ottolenghi is an israeli chef living in London. His food has mediterrean and middle eastern influence with a moderne twist. He also cooks vegetarian food and is known as "The man who sexed up vegetables". He has written multiple cookbooks among them the populat Plenty and Plenty more. He and his partners run several deli`s and restaurant, Nopi in London. This review is from Nopi.
Nopi is divided into two, upstairs with more formel dining (acutually ground floor) and downstairs community table style
with a view of the open kitchen. We dined downstairs. Bright and airy even in the basement. Large community tables with bar stools. Crisp white linen napkins, nice glasses and silverware. Two waiters with a little too much to do. Very exciting menu.  We ordered 4 dishes. Brown lentils with cumin and fried shallots, Double cooked baby chicken with lemon myrtle salt and chili sauce, Seabass with wet polenta and Beat salad with burrata.
For dessert we had coffee and pecan  financiers with maple cream.
Everything tasted fantastic and exceeded my expectations. But the portions was small which was a little disappointing.  This a very popular restaurant situated in a popular neighoorhood, SOHO in London. That reflects the prices , they are quite high for small portion size. Starters (sharing dishes) is 6-13 pounds and mains 20-25 pounds. Desserts 6-9 pounds. With somewhat larger portions I woud have given the restaurant top marks.
