Apricot energy bar

A little snack for my daughter to bring to school. She does not like nuts or whole seeds.  
I added some  anyway as they are good for her. She said she could taste them, but did not mind this time.
I will definitly make som more varietes of these bar later on.
Apricot energy bar
7 oz soft dried apricots
3,5 oz raisins
1/4 cup orange juice
2 sticks butter, cold and diced
1 cup wholemeal flour
1 cup + 2 tbsp rolled oats
1/3 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tsp grated orange zest
1/3 cup lightly packed dark brown sugar
1/3 cup light packed brown sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup to drizzle over

Preheat oven to 325 F. Line a baking tray  9x12 inch with parcement paper.
Chop apricots and mix in a bowl with raisins. Pour in orange juice and leave to soak for 5-10 minutes.
Place the butter in a large mixing bowl, add wholewheat flour, oats, nuts and orange zest. Rub the ingrediens together by hand into a crumble like consistency. Then stir in the sugar.
Drain the orange juice from the fruit and stir fruit into the mixture. Mix well.
Tip the mixture into the baking tray pressing it down into the base and corners with your fingertips.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until deep brown color.Take out of the oven and drizzle maple syrup on top 
Let cool completely in the tray befor cutting into slices.
